In Saskia's studio stands a large doll's house: a cabinet on tall legs so you can get a good view of what's inside (as an adult) and you can touch almost everything in it! Once upon a time somewhere in 2012 it all started with a drawer transformation into a bedroom for the OldBirdKing OBK. You can click here for a link to her blog Tales from the BirdHut to see what it used to look like. The blog's in English because the initial followers lived all over the globe. You can see OBK sitting on his throne on the left of the photograph. His birth so to speak brought forth an entire universe with all kinds of beings and buildings. The Drawer moved into a bookshelf made of old wooden floor planks; carbuncle-like structures attached themselves onto the shelving unit. Slowly but gradually The Dwelling, as it had been coined by one of the blog-readers, became ever larger. Despite which it remained too small to house all the critters, who had found a safe haven here, comfortably. The Dwelling moved from the East Wall to the West Wall, planks and rooms were added, more kitchens even. Now the Dwelling looks like it does in the top image, a wink towards the Old-Dutch doll's houses owned by wealthy ladies from the Amsterdam Canal area during the Golden Age. Saskia claims this is definitely the last transformation. We shall see.
